The New River Humane Society has named a new shelter director for the Fayette County Animal Control Center.
Her name is Amanda Withrow and she has been serving as an “interim” director since September. She is now officially holding the position of director permanently.
The Register Herald reports that Withrow is from Oak Hill and spent 10 years being involved in a number of animal welfare organizations in California and Oregon, before recently returning to Fayette County.
The Fayette County Animal Control Center has taken in over 1700 animals in just the past year.
