New River Health to offer drive-through testing on Wednesday; No doctor’s order required

OAK HILL, WV (WOAY) – Last week, New River Health assisted the Fayette County Health Department with their vulnerable population testing effort.

On Wednesday, New River Health will begin testing on their own.

They will be doing drive-through COVID-19 testing at the Kmart property in Oak Hill. No symptoms or doctor’s order required.

Since the pandemic began, Chief Medical Officer Angela Barker says New River Health has been conducting a limited amount of testing at their offices, but now they have expanded their reach.

“The Federal Government wants us to expand to all of the community and since when we serve a greater portion of Fayette County, we collaborated with the health department with a very visible property,” she said.

This will be happening on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. You are encouraged to bring your insurance card. Those without insurance will still be tested.
