New River CTC extends registration for fall classes starting August 24

BEAVER, WV (WOAY) – New River Community and Technical College is extending registration for fall 2020 classes to Friday, August 21 and delaying the start of fall classes until Monday, August 24 to give students more time to register.

“Due to COVID-19, many students and their families are dealing with a great deal of uncertainty. Our students that are parents are looking at the county school options along with their own schedule, trying to determine what is best for them and their families. We’re also hearing from students who had planned to go away to school for the fall and are now looking at other options,” explained Executive Director of Institutional Advancement and the Foundation Michael Green. “By extending registration, we’re giving people more time to make decisions on taking classes.”

For the fall 2020 semester, New River CTC will offer web enhanced face-to-face classes using Zoom video conferencing, online classes and face-to-face lab classes for technical, nursing, allied health and EMS programs. The college will also be offering 10-week general studies classes online starting in September.

New River CTC offers more than 60 degree and certificate programs with over 30 eligible for the WV Invests Grant providing free tuition.
