NEW DETAILS: Two Taken to Hospital in Rt. 19 Accident

MOUNT HOPE—A motor vehicle accident temporarily shuts down U.S. Rt. 19 in Fayette County today. Sheriff Mike Fridley released the following information regarding this accident.

At about 12:30pm this afternoon the Fayette County 911 Center was notified of a three car motor vehicle accident today at the Mount Hope exit on U.S. Route 19. Responders found that two of the vehicles involved were blocking the southbound lanes, and the third vehicle had rolled over into the northbound lanes.

Only two vehicle occupants were transported to the hospital for the treatment of potential injuries sustained in the accident.

Deputies and members of the Mount Hope and Oak Hill Fire Departments had the roadway back open to traffic flow in only about 30 minutes after arriving on scene. Jan Care and General Ambulance were on scene to provided medical care and transport.

This accident remains under investigation by Deputy First Class S.K. Neal and Deputy E.S. Pridemore of the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department.
