New barrel company project in Greenbrier Co. on hold

CHARLESTON, WV (WOAY) – The state Economic Development Authority is holding off approving a loan for the West Virginia Great Barrel Company to build a new facility in Greenbrier County.

The barrel company hasn’t finalized a loan that will match the $6 million loan the EDA is giving to the company, according to a Charleston newspaper.

The EDA hopes it can come up with it by the time they meet again in January.

Great Barrel would make whiskey barrels out of white oak.
