Nearly 3,000 Employees Working On Mountain Valley Pipeline Laid Off

WEST VIRGINIA (WOAY) – Construction workers working on the Mountain Valley Pipeline have been laid off.

Employees with the Mountain Valey Pipeline tells WOAY that nearly 3,000 workers have been laid off and they were notified at around 1:30 pm on Friday. The layoffs are in response to a Federal Court of Appeals ruling over permits for a 3 1/2 mile right of way in the Jefferson National Forest.  A lot of the employees affected are in our area.

Workers were told they would probably be brought back in the Spring.

The modification does allow construction to restart on part of the route in West Virginia.
