Lansing, WV (WOAY)- The National Park Service is seeking public feedback on an environmental assessment of a new Fire and Vegetation management plan.
The plan will impact the New River Gorge National Park and Preserve, Gauley River National Recreation Area, and Bluestone National Scenic River.
The proposed project involves updated fire management activities to meet federal fire policies, achieve ecosystem restoration goals, and protect natural and cultural resources, the public, employees, and park facilities.
NPS will host a public meeting on Thursday, September 12, at 6:00 pm in Lansing’s Canyon Rim Visitor Center to provide information on the plan and answer questions.
