Mullens man facing sexual abuse charges

Cody Seth Steele

MULLENS, WV (WOAY) – A Wyoming County man is facing sexual abuse charges after he held a knife at a woman’s throat and sexually abused her.

According to court documents, the Mullens Police Department was dispatched to a home on Friday, July 17, 2020.  When officers arrived, the victim claimed that she was talking to a friend on the phone when Cody Steele tried touching her with his privates.  The victim alleges that Steele pushed her to the bed and tried to take her pants off.  He then put a knife to her throat.  The victim stated that she felt her life was in danger if she didn’t comply.  Steele told the victim that she wanted this and that she liked it, so she then complied.  After she stopped fighting, he began to abuse her sexually.

After he was done, she told Steele that her husband would be home soon, so he kissed her on the forehead and said he loved her before leaving.

Steele is charged with first-degree sexual abuse and is currently in Southern Regional Jail under a 10,000 dollar bond.
