Mullens Man Arrested For Animal Cruelty

MULLENS (WOAY) – Police arrested Ricky Hanshaw Jr on warrants obtained by Mullens Police Department.  The incident started with a reference to a photo of a dog on Facebook that went viral.

Officers with Mullens Police Department concluded the investigation and a felony warrant for animal cruelty and criminal invasion of privacy warrant were issued by a Wyoming County Magistrate.

Officers from Beckley Police Department arrested Ricky Hanshaw jr 32 of Mullens, bond was set a 15 thousand dollars.  Officers also served a no bond hold from West Virginia state parole office.

The dog Brutus came through surgery at Beckley vet hospital and Wyoming paw patrol has custody of Brutus who is recovering from his surgery.  Mullens officers also took Ariel a sister to Brutus into protective custody and were released to Wyoming paw patrol uninjured.
