WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): One more day of low humidity then Friday and Saturday offer more mugginess with spits of showers.
The rain we get from Friday afternoon into Saturday will be enough to wet a few gardens, but won’t do anything to put us out of a drought. There is downside risk to rainfall amounts thanks to Ernesto absorbing the energy from the trough. As Ernesto sweeps into northern New England/Atlantic Canada next week, we will see the implications with a cool air mass beaming south from Canada by midweek next week.
Looking down the road, two West Pacific tropical systems will likely transition to low pressure areas as they push towards Alaska and likely bring another transient cool blast a bit later this month. Rainfall will stay below average and our drought will continue.
