BECKLEY, WV (WOAY) – Hundreds of families in Beckley got to take home fresh produce this afternoon.
Cars were lined up inside the Linda K Epling Stadium parking lot for a Mountaineer Food Bank Mobile Food Pantry. Mountaineer Food banks passed out over 300 food boxes. Staff member, Cara Holmes says volunteers have been working hard to feed those in the community.
“We have definitely been busy, and Mountaineer Food Bank’s warehouse has been busy as well. We do eight to ten mobile pantry a week, and our volunteers are from all different organizations, and they have been working pretty hard,” said Staff member Cara Holmes.
Holmes said the mobile food pantry provides food to nearly 300 families.
