Athens, WV (WOAY) – Concord football is 1-1 following a 42-21 home loss Thursday to the University of Charleston at Callaghan Stadium.
The Golden Eagles opened the scoring on a 47-yard touchdown pass from Mason Olszewski to Jimmy Wheeler, a play where Olszewski was forced to scramble before he could complete the pass. UC quickly added a second touchdown before Concord answered to trail 14-7 at the break.
Mountain Lion quarterback Kyle Akin complete 22 of 35 passes for 177 yards and three touchdowns, while Tywan Pearce had 114 yards of total offense, including a receiving touchdown.
Concord is next in action September 15th at UVa-Wise.
