Mount Hope Man Sentenced To Prison For Assault That Left A Man With Permanent Facial Damage

FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (WOAY) – Fayette County Prosecuting Attorney, Larry E. Harrah, II announces that on May 30, 2018, Robert Arthur of Mount Hope was sentenced to one to five years in prison for felony unlawful assault.

Arthur entered a guilty plea on April 10, 2018.

On April 21, 2017, police responded to Bailey Street in Mount Hope after Arthur had attacked Charles Smith, age 68, with a board. Smith suffered permanent facial injuries as a result of the beating.

This crime was investigated by members of the Mount Hope Police Department.
