Mother arrested after two children found covered in sores and left unattended

MEADOW BRIDGE, WV (WOAY) – A welfare check lands a Meadow Bridge woman in jail.

Sheriff Mike Fridley says Child Protective Services workers responded to a home in Meadow Bridge this morning to conduct a welfare check on two children. The worker arrived to find two small children left unattended at this residence. It was also noted that the children were covered in sores and that the home is in a terrible, deplorable condition.

Fayette County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to conduct a criminal investigation in this matter. While on the scene, the mother/guardian showed up and was arrested on site. The children were taken into the custody of the CPS and are being medically evaluated.

Tammy Moul, 43 of Meadow Bridge, is charged with two felony counts of Gross Child Neglect Creating a Risk of Serious Bodily Injury or Death. She will now await court proceedings.
