We’re in for a few more stormy days across southern West Virginia, with the potential for severe thunderstorms and flash flooding continuing into the early part of the workweek.
Tonight, conditions will begin to gradually dry out, with just isolated showers lingering through the overnight hours. However, Sunday morning may start off soggy once again, as scattered showers and a few storms are expected throughout the day.
We’re tracking three more days of rain and storms before a break in the pattern finally arrives by Tuesday afternoon. Sunday and Monday look to be the wettest days, with another round of strong storms likely Monday before we begin to dry out midweek.
Temperatures will stay on the warm to hot side, with daily highs at or above normal. Expect mid to upper 70s through the weekend, climbing into the mid-80s by the end of next week—well above our average of 76°F for this time of year.
After a brief break in the rain Tuesday through Thursday, more showers and storms are expected to return by Friday and Saturday, continuing this soggy stretch of weather.
Be sure to stay weather-aware, especially with the potential for heavy rainfall and flash flooding. We’ll continue to bring you the latest updates here on WOAY.com.
