As of yesterday, anyone under the age of 18 is no longer allowed to use indoor tanning beds throughout the state of West Virginia.
A new law that went into effect on July 7th, prohibits anyone under the age to use indoor tanning devices.
According to the Associated Press, the old law allowed minors to tan as long as they had their parents permission – but that is no longer an option.
The new law also increases the penalties for tanning salon owners who do not obey. They could face a misdemeanor charge and a $100 fine for the first offense of allowing anyone under age to use the facility.
