Miner’s Receive Help On Filing Claims For Black Lung

BECKLEY, WV (WOAY) – Black Lung is a typical disease many miners face to help current and former miners get the help they need the black lung center held an event.

The event was held at the Beckley Raleigh County Convention Center.  Miners were able to receive help filing black lung claims.  Physicians were also there to help check miners to see if they had the disease.

We’re told miners are affected by this disease every day so it’s essential that they get the help they need.

“The miners have built this Country on their back providing coal, steel, and aluminum. A lot of folks had to travel to Kentucky or Virginia for testing, and we decided we were going to do this here,” said David Gresham, Cheif Development Officer of Boone Hospital.

If you were unable to make today’s event and would like help head over to the black lung center website at BMH.ORG.
