Million-dollar Powerball ticket sold in WV

Charleston, WV (WOAY) – A $1 million dollar winning ticket was sold in Kanawha County, from Saturday’s drawing.

According to a media release from the West Virginia Lottery, the ticket was sold at Mardi Gras Casino in Cross Lanes, WV.

The ticket holder matched all five numbers but not the Power Ball, and the Powerplay option was not purchased.

WV Lottery Officials are asking the holder of this ticket to sign the back and call the West Virginia Lottery at 304-558-0500 for instructions on how to claim.

The numbers from Saturday’s drawing were 5, 20, 28, 39, 42 and the Power Ball was 13. There are nine prize tiers in the Powerball game, ranging from $4 to the jackpot. The current jackpot sits at $93 million.

Tickets can be purchased for $2 apiece, or $3 with the Power Play option, which increases non-jackpot prizes.

The next Powerball drawing is on Wednesday May 14, 2025, at 10:04 p.m. with a $106 million dollar jackpot.
