Midland Trail football begins three-week practice period

HICO, WV (WOAY) – Monday marked the start of the official three-week summer practice period for high school sports in most West Virginia counties. The period coincides with Phase Three of the WVSSAC guidelines released in May.

While some area teams have opted to skip the three weeks of practice entirely – in part due to Gov. Justice’s mandate of face masks – Midland Trail football was one of the squads to hold its first practice of the three-week period on Monday.

Head coach Frank Isaacs says taking advantage of the opportunities in Phases One and Two has made an impact in getting student-athletes ready for these practices. His goal is to help them stay conditioned ahead of the scheduled start of preseason in August.
