PRINCETON, WV (WOAY) – A Mercer County man is facing alleged sexual assault charges.

According to court documents, Princeton Police was conducting regular patrols in the Advent Christian Church’s parking lot off of Oliver Avenue on Sunday, September 6, 2020.  The officer noticed two people moving around in the back of the vehicle.  The officer asked the driver to exit the vehicle, and he was placed under arrest.  Police found marijuana, cash, and an open bottle of Hennessy liquor in the driver seat.  An underage female was also in the car.  The driver, Cordero High, told the officer that he and the victim, who was 15-years-old, was messing around sexually.  High told police that he didn’t know the victim’s age. When High was transported to the police station, he told them that he didn’t know the victim was 15, and they met a few days ago at the park.

High is charged with third-degree sexual assault and is currently in Southern Regional Jail under a 30,000 dollar cash-only bond.
