Memorial Day Program in Bluefield

Bland St. in Bluefield, WV was lined with American Flags to honor military personnel.

Veteran Brian Krabbe said “I’ve been to combat three times. I’ve lost quite a few soldiers and today means that I am going to
give thanks back to them and remember them today.”

The annual Memorial Day Program was filled with songs, guest speakers, and a special presentation with a 21 Gun Salute and Taps
presented by a local Honor Guard.

Guest Speaker Richard Ojeda talked about the importance of today and why we should celebrate.

“This day is a day that we must remember those who paid the ultimate sacrifice. If you have someone in your family who has done that then
absolutely remember, but if you haven’t then you need to still remember,” said Ojeda.

WOAY NewsWatch gives a special thanks to all of our veterans who have and continue to fight for our freedoms.
