CHARLESTON– U.S. Senator Joe Manchin sent a letter on Wednesday urging President Trump to consider West Virginia priorities when crafting his 2018 budget proposal.
Senator Manchin highlighted areas that need special attention including caring for our children and those in need, improving the economy and creating jobs, keeping our promise to seniors and veterans, prioritizing our national security and improving our infrastructure and energy independence. As a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, Senator Manchin will carefully scrutinize the President’s budget to see how it will impact West Virginia. The Senate Appropriations Committee will then hold hearings in all twelve subcommittees to discuss and debate the President’s budget and to make sure that voices of West Virginians are heard.
