Sutton, WV (WOAY)- A man set to face a jury in Braxton County instead entered a guilty plea to multiple charges on Wednesday.
45-year-old Jason W. Fox appeared before Judge Michael Asbury for a jury trial on an indictment that included burglary, two counts of domestic battery, third offense, two additional counts of domestic battery, and misdemeanor destruction of property.
Before the trial began, Fox pleaded guilty to every count in the indictment.
Judge Asbury dismissed two related domestic assault charges, explaining that those were lesser offenses, meaning a jury could not convict on both the assault and battery charges.
With the guilty plea, Fox now faces between 4 and 26 years in prison. Sentencing is set for December 18th at 9 a.m.
He awaits further court proceedings in Central Regional Jail on a $5,000 surety/cash bond and a $25,000 cash bail.
Attorney Eric Wildman represented Fox.
The state’s case is being handled by Braxton County Prosecutor Dwayne Vandevender.
