TALCOTT– A man walked away from a major accident this evening with only minor injuries.
Around 6 PM this evening a truck was struck by an Amtrack train in Talcott. State Police tell Newswatch that man’s truck stalled as he was crossing the track. They say the man told them he saw the lights flashing, but thought he could make it across the tracks in time.
Police say luckily the train was only going 40 mph due to a flood watch in the area. They say normally trains go about 60 mph through that area. The truck was completely separated into several parts. One part was even drug more than 700 feet down the track. But the most incredible thing of this whole story is that the man walked away from the accident with only minor injuries.
