Man charged with felony offenses after pursuit in Raleigh County

RALEIGH COUNTY, WV (WOAY) – A man is charged with four felony offenses after a traffic pursuit in Raleigh County.

On Sept. 10, Deputy J.A. Parks attempted to stop a gold Honda minivan on Harper Rd. at I-77.  The driver initially stopped, but then fled from Parks.  A pursuit ensued lasting about 10 minutes and covering 6 1/2 miles before he was stopped with the assistance of officers from the Sophia Police Department and WV State Police.

Bolen violated numerous traffic laws and disregarded public safety during the pursuit.  He was found to be intoxicated at the time he was fleeing from offficers.  He was also found to not have a valid driver’s license.

Bolen was arrested and charged with four felony offenses: Fleeing with Reckless Disregard, Fleeing while DUI, 3rd Offense DUI, and 3rd Offense Driving on a Revoked due to DUI.  He was taken to Southern Regional Jail pending arraignment before a Raleigh County Magistrate.
