Man Arrested In Beckley For Trying To Break Into A Home While Looking For His Dog

BECKLEY, WV (WOAY) – A North Carolina man is arrested in Beckley for attempted burglary, telling the victim he was looking for his dog.

According to court documents, on Monday, September 3, 2018, Woodrow Wilson Kennedy IV, 28, of Trinity, NC, tried to break into a home.  The victim told police he heard someone at his front door, attempting to gain entry by jerking the door knob.  The homeowner retrieved his firearm and made contact with the Kennedy.

Kennedy apologized and stated that he was only trying to get into the house because he was looking for his dog.  Kennedy later stated that he was looking for his friend’s house.

Kennedy was charged with attempted burglary and is in the Southern Regional Jail under a 25,000 dollar bond.
