Man arrested for having seventeen walleye out of Summersville Lake

SUMMERSVILLE, WV (WOAY) – West Virginia Natural Resources Police catch a man with seventeen walleye.

On 12/15/18 Officers Quinn, Fitzwater, and Sergeant Duffield conducted a walleye squad on Summersville Lake. Braving the elements, the officers were able to catch one individual with seventeen walleye that he had caught and placed in his live well. The fishing violation is pending in the Nicholas County Magistrate Court. Other boating violations associated with boating and fishing were also issued during the detail.

The West Virginia Natural Resource Police will be actively patrolling both in uniform and undercover to enforce these regulations to protect and reestablish this fishing resource as well as the boating safety rules.

If you observe someone violating these rules or other violations, please contact your local officer, DNR Office, or 911. Details that would help with the investigation are registration numbers from vehicle or boat, suspect descriptions, and vehicle/boat descriptions.
