Local Student Wins Award

Lillie Villenave, an eighth-grader at Park Middle School, was chosen by coalition judges as the winner in the seventh-eighth grade category of the Freedom Contest.
The students had to create something related to recycling for the contest and the entries could be anything from drawing a picture to making a short video.
Lillie was introduced to recycling in her kindergarten class and knows the importance recycling has on the atmosphere.
“I know that certain things when not disposed of properly can either take away from the atmosphere or add on to it and I don’t want to change it at all. Keep the weight the same,” said Lillie Villenave an eighth-grader at Park Middle School.
Lillie was awarded a plaque, and her teacher, Linda Lilly, was presented with a $200 gift card for classroom use.
