Local Red Cross gets new executive director

BECKLEY (NEWS RELEASE) — The American Red Cross is pleased to announce that Courtney Clark joined the Red Cross as Executive Director for the Southeast Chapter headquartered in Beckley on March 2, 2017. She previously served as a news anchor for WVVA-TV, after the mountains called her home from Charleston, South Carolina. She began her career at The Register-Herald in Beckley and moved on to serve as a news reporter and anchor at WVNS-TV 59 News in Ghent, WV.

Courtney has been recognized as an award-winning journalist and team player, but she has always had a heart for nonprofit work and community involvement. She has spent a great deal of time volunteering with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and is excited to put her experience to work for the American Red Cross. She was born and raised in Southeast West Virginia and looks forward to making an impact in a place that’s more than where she works, but a place she calls home.

Courtney will be responsible for the day-day management of the Southeast West Virginia Chapter, fundraising and promotion of the organization in order to raise public awareness and increase volunteer engagement.  The Southeast West Virginia Chapter is comprised of eleven counties including Fayette, Greenbrier, Mercer, McDowell, Monroe, Nicholas, Pocahontas Raleigh, Summers, Webster and Wyoming.  To learn more about your local Red Cross chapter, visit www.redcrosswv.org or call 1-844-216-8286.
