Local Company Holding School Supply Drive To Help With Back To School Costs

It’s back to school week!

And with kids heading back to the classroom, comes a shopping list of supplies.

“The cost of sending kids back to school continues to rise and many students don’t have the opportunity to head back to class with all the school supplies they might need.”

Because of that, Grand Home Furnishings is launching a “Stock The Schools” Supply Drive.

“We just want to help our local community and help some of these kids get back to school on the right track. So we have offered a 10% discount to any customer who is bringing in any school supplies,” Jason Carter, the store manager of the Beckley location, told us.

Now until August 20th, you can donate school supplies to any of the four Grand Home Furnishing locations in West Virginia.

Basic supplies are needed, including pencils, pens, glue sticks, and paper.

“I think there’s people that have several children, and whenever you have several children it gets to be really expensive. Especially whenever you have specific supplies that need to be purchased, or you have kids that are in high school that need much more expensive supplies. Free school supplies are always a good thing,” said Amber Grimmet, an Oak Hill resident and mother of two.

This is a great cause where everyone can support our local community and children in need.

“We want our kids to get started on the right foot this year,” said Carter.
