Local church offers Vacation Bible School in online format to keep youth members safe

FAYETTEVILLE, WV (WOAY) – Every year the Grace Baptist Church offers Vacation Bible School, but this year they’re doing it online.

Normally the program is a week-long festivity where kids attend activities at the church, but with the pandemic, the church thought it was best to change it to an online experience.

Greg Pawlus, a youth minister with the church, says it took them months to plan it.

“We have Vacation Bible School every year and with the COVID-19 taking place we still wanted to get in touch with the youth in the area this summer. So something I’ve been working on the past several months is finding a way for us to communicate,” Pawlus said.

Vacation Bible School starts tonight at the church, and will last until this Friday, June 19.
