Local brewer makes “Black is Beautiful” beer

COOL RIDGE, WV (WOAY) – Weathered Ground Brewery is one of just two in the state supporting the “Black is Beautiful Initiative.”

The initiative started at a Texas brewery and now involves over 900 breweries in all 50 states and 19 countries.

Each participant will brew the Black is Beautiful beer this summer. Proceeds go towards local organizations supporting the Black community.

“We’ve supported so many causes in the past,” said Aryn Fonda. “This is important right now. Personally we wanted to be part of the comradery. No hesitation, we were just excited that we were able to do something that will benefit people in need.”

The brewery plans to introduce the imperial stout to the public near the end of the with all proceeds going to the West Virginia NAACP.
