It’s something Wayne Browning says he’ll remember for the rest of his life.
“What I saw just burned into my mind and I don’t know if I’ll ever forget it,” Browning said.
For Browning and his son Jeffrey, Wednesday was just an annual trip to collect some firewood, but when they got out of their vehicle, they discovered something that will ingrained into their minds forever.
“I saw an arm, I saw two skulls, some bones, vertebrae…but it’s an ungodly thing to have happen,” Browning says.
Right after, Browning called the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Department, which is still looking for any clues that could lead them to what happened here.
“It’s not something that we deal with everyday, but it’s just another day,” Lieutenant Mike McCray said. “It’s cataloged and we’ll investigate it just like it’s any other crime.”
Right now, McCray said the case is being treated as a double homocide, and if you have any information, call the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Department or Crime Stoppers.
