List Of Schools Who Will Be Closed Due To The Statewide Work Stoppage

WEST VIRGINIA (WOAY) – Last week it was announced teachers were going to participate in a two-day walkout Thursday, February 22 and Friday, February 23 in support of higher wages and changes to PEIA.

Even though it was announced teachers would participate, it is up to the superintendent of their county, if schools will Be Closed or not. Most of them will decide today.

All county schools in our area will be closed Thursday and Friday:

Greenbrier – CLOSED Thursday & Friday
Fayette – CLOSED Thursday & Friday
McDowell – CLOSED Thursday & Friday
Raleigh – CLOSED Thursday & Friday
Wyoming – CLOSED Thursday & Friday
Monroe – CLOSED Thursday & Friday
Mercer – CLOSED Thursday & Friday
Nicholas – CLOSED Thursday & Friday
Summers – CLOSED Thursday & Friday
Pocahontas – CLOSED Thursday & Friday

Other Schools Across West Virginia:

Kanawha – CLOSED

If school is closed, the days will have to be made up at the end of the calendar year.
