GREENBRIER CO., WV (NEWS RELEASE) – On Tuesday, December 05, 2017, members of the West Virginia State Police, Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Department and the Greenbrier Valley Drug and Violent Crime Task Force, executed a search warrant on the residence of David Wayne Lilly, age 35, located on Hundley Road, Clintonville, West Virginia. This search warrant was obtained by the Greenbrier Valley Drug and Violent Crime Task Force based upon information that Mr. Lilly was involved in the distribution of Methamphetamine in the Greenbrier County area.
Upon executing the search warrant, officers discovered that Mr. Lilly was not present at the residence. A search of the residence by officers resulted in the seizure of approximately seven (7) ounces of crystal Methamphetamine, thirty-six (36) firearms, including rifles, shotguns and pistols, as well as other controlled substances. A check of the firearms seized revealed that several of these firearms had been reported stolen and efforts are being made to return these firearms to their rightful owners.
An arrest warrant was subsequently obtained by the Greenbrier Valley Drug and Violent Crime Task Force through the Greenbrier County Magistrate Court on Mr. Lilly for the charge of possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance-Methamphetamine.
On Monday, December 11, 2017, members of the Lewisburg Police Department along with the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Department located Mr. Lilly in the parking lot of Wal-Mart in Lewisburg, Greenbrier County, West Virginia.
Mr. Lilly was placed under arrest on the warrant that was previously obtained by the Greenbrier Valley Drug and Violent Crime Task Force. During this arrest, officers located a small quantity of crystal Methamphetamine as well as two (2) firearms from the vehicle of and the person of Mr. Lilly. A search warrant was subsequently obtained by the Lewisburg Police Department for the vehicle of Mr. Lilly.
During the execution of this search warrant by members of the Lewisburg Police Department an additional quantity of approximately eight (8) ounces of crystal Methamphetamine was located hidden in the vehicle.
Mr. Lilly was charged by the Lewisburg Police Department with an additional charge of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance-Methamphetamine for the Methamphetamine located during his arrest.
Mr. Lilly was arraigned by Greenbrier County Magistrate Brenda Smith and given a $30,000-dollar bond which was posted and he was released from custody pending further hearings.
The combined total street value of the crystal Methamphetamine which was seized from Mr. Lilly during the search warrant of the residence and the vehicle is approximately sixty-thousand ($60,000.00) dollars.
Additional charges may be forthcoming on Lilly, as well as other individuals, stemming from this joint investigation.
