Lewisburg Implements Voluntary Water Conservation measures

LEWISBURG (News Release) – Effective immediately (January 11, 2018), we are asking all Lewisburg Municipal Water System customers to adopt voluntary water conservation measures for the near future.

We have determined that water conservation is needed at this time in order to protect the integrity of our supply and distribution system. Since the last cold snap began, we have experienced a noticeable reduction in the water available from our source and have discovered numerous water leaks that have compromised our ability to restore water levels in our water tanks. At the same time we have seen much higher than normal water usage. We need to concentrate our efforts on getting the water levels back to normal in all our tanks. Water tank levels are critical to increasing water pressure and volume throughout our water system.

We ask all water customers to commit to using water for only essential functions until we can re-establish normal tank levels and water pressure throughout the water system. By voluntarily reducing water usage, all customers can help resolve this short term supply shortage problem. This water conservation notice will be in effect until tank levels rise and pressure throughout the system is restored. We appreciate everyone’s help in reducing their water usage.
