WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): Snow showers will come through this morning before yielding to partly cloudy skies not just today, but for the entire weekend. Meteorologist Christian Boteler brings the good news:
We break above freezing for the weekend and break into the 50s by Tuesday. Tuesday will bring a slight chance of light rain showers in the afternoon before a high pressure quickly sweeps it away. Wednesday will once again be beautiful before our next frontal system comes through on Thursday, lingering into Friday morning next week.
Since we finally have a break from the frankly terrible weather we have been having, we’d like to take a look at just how much precipitation we have gotten over the month. The answer is historic amounts of rain and snow across the region! We are having our rainiest February across most of the area so far in February, and several cities have broken records. Lewisburg and Alderson have both smashed their previous records by an inch, while Beckley has broken its February record recently. Did we mention that we still have a week left? We are expecting a few more rainfall records to be broken due to the rainfall we have received thus far. Take a look here:
