Kroger hosting virtual mother’s day event this Saturday May 9

ROANOKE, VA (WOAY) – Ahead of Mother’s Day, Kroger Mid-Atlantic is celebrating virtually with Social, Social, a nationwide stay-at-home celebration designed to unite its millions of customers safely through food and festivity. At the event, participants will be able to craft Mother’s Day cards, get brunch recipes and more. More information on the virtual event can be found at https://krogersocialsocial.com/.

Whether customers are shopping in store or through Kroger’s online ordering service, Pickup, there are many options available at Kroger to help celebrate moms.

Customers can order fresh flowers with a grocery order to be picked up through Pickup, Kroger’s online ordering service. Flowers can also be purchased in store from the floral department. Roses are the most popular flower for Mother’s Day and come in a variety of colors. Other options include potted flowering plants like hydrangea and mini roses and succulents.

“At Kroger, customers have over 100 options to choose from ranging in price from $4 to $250 when it comes to picking the perfect flowers for mom,” said Allison McGee, corporate affairs manager for Kroger Mid-Atlantic. “We typically see that pinks and lavenders are the traditional Mother’s Day color, but trends have shown that brighter and bolder colors are becoming just as popular. Our floral experts predict that orange will be the trending color in Mother’s Day bouquets this year.”

DIY cookie and cupcake decorating kits also are available to purchase in store for an activity that’s fun for the whole family with a sweet reward. Other treats available for purchase include chocolate covered berries, cakes and brownies.
