Kroger grocery store to eliminate plastic bags

WEST VIRGINIA (WOAY)- Kroger announced they will be phasing out plastic bags and transitioning to reusable bags across all there stores by 2025.

The decision comes after Kroger’s decided to divert 90% of waste from landfills by 2020.

Kroger says 100 billion single-use plastic bags are thrown away in the U.S. every year and less than five percent are recycled annually in America.
