Incentive for WV businesses to complete COVID-19 surveys

BECKLEY, WV (WOAY) – The New River Gorge Regional Development Authority (NRGRDA), in partnership with the WV Association of Regional Councils, the WV Chamber of Commerce and the West Virginia Development Office, has developed a series of COVID-19 economic impact surveys to better understand business needs and quantify the economic impact the state of WV is experiencing.

  • The business impact survey asks respondents a series of 17 questions that directly relate to the impact they are, or are not, experiencing as a result of COVID-19. Businesses are encouraged to apply regardless of their current level of impact. Follow-up surveys will help track the impact trajectory over time.
  • The business locator and operations survey allows respondents to list amended hours of operation and services they continue to provide during the pandemic. The resulting interactive map will assist the public with locating restaurants, pharmacies and other businesses that are still providing services during closures.

“This information will be vital in helping shape the way the State of WV responds to business needs both now and during the recovery stage. The data collected will also be shared with our U.S. Representatives in an effort to help shape future resources and additional stimulus support. We are encouraging all WV businesses to respond to these important surveys”, said Jina Belcher, NRGRDA Deputy Director.

“We want to encourage businesses to complete these surveys so we’re offering a $1,250 small business support grant. Businesses that complete the survey through April 30 will be entered for a chance to receive the grant to help support operational expenses.”

The surveys can be accessed on the NRGRDA website at https://nrgrda.org/covid-impact or via a direct link to the survey page at bit.ly/COVIDWVImpact.
