Humane Society of Raleigh County to Reduce Hours of Operation Due to Financial Difficulties

BECKLEY, WV (WOAY) – The Humane Society of Raleigh County will be reducing their hours of operation effective immediately due to ongoing financial difficulties.

The HSRC Board of Directors voted to reduce operating hours in an effort to reduce costs.  New hours of operation will be Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday 11:30 am – 4:30 pm.

“We regret having to close our doors to the public these additional days but the decrease we have experienced in normal donations, coupled with the rising costs have left unable to operate on a regular schedule” says Suzan Loving, Director of Development.  “We are down approximately $ 75,000.00 in donations compared to last year while our vaccines and veterinary cost are up nearly $ 100,000.00.  We are desperate to recover some of this deficit so we can return to normal operations.  If we can’t, there is a looming possibility of us having to close our doors entirely”.

Donations can be made in person at the HSRC shelter at 325 Grey Flats Road during business hours, online at www.hsrcwv.org, or via PayPal at paypal.me/hsrc.  Donations are tax deductible.
