While decorating your house for Christmas can be fun, it can also be dangerous if you’re not careful when plugging cords into electrical outlets.

“ I try to get no more than a couple of them on different circuits you know, Not on the same circuit.” Said Joe Massie

There are a lot of ways people decorate their homes from the inside to the outside. Certain equipment is needed to put those decorations on display.

“Inspect the equipment. Make sure that there’s nothing that can cause a fire such as, Frey’s or damage to the bulbs. Make sure that your bulbs are replaced. Then you’re going to want to make sure your equipment is appropriate for the right setting so you’re not going to use indoor bulbs outside. Said Joseph Cooper, EMT and Firefighter for the Mount Hope Fire Department

“Just don’t overload the circuits you know, you can put too much on them and that’s when you get in trouble.” Said Joe Massie

Try and remember these tips when decorating so you can stay safe while having a Merry Christmas and a Happy Holiday.
