Hinton Police Officer Builds New Mailbox For Senior Couple After Someone Destroyed It

HINTON, WV (WOAY) – A Hinton Police Officer installs a new mailbox for seniors residents after someone damaged it.

Hinton Police Officer Shawn Weikle received a call early Thursday morning of someone’s mailbox being damaged overnight and the suspect had fled the scene.

The residents were seniors and worried how they would fix it. Officer Weikle took it upon himself and acquired a new 4×4 post and a bag of concrete. He then dug out the broken post, installed the new one, and mounted the mailbox back up, all before the mail ran this afternoon.

Talk about service. Great job Officer Weikle!
