Hilltop, WV (WOAY) – If you’re looking for a celebration of culture, history, and community, Hilltop Baptist invites you to its annual Black history candlelight presentation and soul food dinner.Â
The event starts on Saturday, February 22, at 2:00 p.m. at the Hilltop Baptist Center.Â
Hilltop and various other churches will partner to honor the legacy of African Americans throughout history, spotlighting their significant contributions to society.Â
The presentation will feature music, a black history sermon from Rev. Frank Jones, and the recitation of Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech by Rev. Alphonso Douglas Mullins.Â
Hilltop will also serve a traditional soul food dinner featuring dishes passed down through generations.Â
Anyone interested in attending is encouraged to wear their black history attire and get there early, as the first 50 people to arrive will receive gift bags.Â
For even more incentive, there will be a drawing where the winner will take home a mystery prize.Â
