Hidden Valley Golf Course to host national motocross race next weekend

GLEN DANIEL, WV (WOAY) – The Hidden Valley Golf Course has been holding competitive motocross races, and is planning to host a national race event next weekend.

The Hidden Valley Golf Course is no stranger to holding outdoor events, but ever since the pandemic began, the community has flocked to them for safe outdoor activities. One such activity is their motocross races. Rhonda Calloway, owner of Hidden Valley, says she’s glad to provide for the community.

“I’m proud anytime we can get people to come out and enjoy time with their family and get the chance to enjoy things that they have dedicated their life to. These kids love this. We’ve got grown men, we have an elderly man here who’s raced his whole life. I’m glad to see people getting back to doing what they love,” Calloway said.

Next weekend they’re planning to host the Kenda Full Gas Sprint Enduro, a national motocross race coming to West Virginia.

“We have a big national race, it’s called the Kenda Full Gas Sprint Enduro. It will be here next weekend, July 18 and 19. It’s an all-weekend event. $10 gets you in and you can come and go as much as you want.”

Calloway says she’s happy the community is able to come out for these events despite all the issues in the world at the moment. They also plan to host some outdoor music events now that they’re allowed to be held according to the state reopening guidelines.

“We’ll have a live band, Hillbilly smoke band. They’ll be playing a big outdoor live concert at Southern Rock. It’s included in the price, so $10 is a great way to spend your weekend next weekend here at Hidden Valley.”

Because Hidden Valley is such a large property and all of the events are outdoors, all of their activities have the potential to be held in a safe manner. More events coming up at Hidden Valley include more motocross races and mud bogs.
