Hepatitis A Confirmed In Nicholas County From A Food Worker At Taco Bell

SUMMERSVILLE, WV (WOAY) – According to the Nicholas County Health Department, the first case of Hepatitis A from a food worker has been confirmed.

The confirmed case is from a food service worker employed at Taco Bell in Summersville, WV.

Taco Bell in Summersville is working with the health department to prevent any new cases from arising in the community.  The employee will not return to work until cleared by a health professional.  The rest of the staff will be receiving Hepatitis A vaccine to prevent this type of situation in the future.

The best way to prevent Hepatitis A is to wash hand properly.  If you have symptoms of Hepatitis A and live in Nicholas County you are urged to contact your doctor or the Health Department at 304-872-5329.
