Greenbrier Valley Brewing Company Veterans Benefit to honor those who defend our freedom

MAXWELTON, WV (WOAY) – Greenbrier Valley Brewing Company is giving back to all those whose selfless sacrifice on the front lines defend our country.

Their veteran’s benefit on July 6 (1 to 9 pm) will feature local music, artists and food vendors.

“We’re gonna give 10 percent of all the proceeds of a beer that we brewed — Golf. Victor. Bravo. Charlie, it’s a light American lager,” said production manager/small batch lead brewer Jeff Frizsell. “It’s gonna go to the military order of the Purple Heart local chapter 733. Next year we’re gonna choose another veterans group that we can give back to. We’d like to see this be like an annual thing because we are a veteran-owned business as well as our sister company, Hawk Knob Hard Cider.”

Want to thank our veterans for their service to defend our nation and freedom? Get out, explore and kickback — at Greenbrier Valley Brewing Company’s Veterans Benefit.

According to Frizsell, it’s important to honor and remember our troops.

“The Americans who were wounded in action give their time for us, so we should do something for them,” the production manager said. “We have a lot of veterans who come into this business weekly, and we give a veteran’s discount and we just wanted to give back.”

Frizsell says there’s nothing like brewing beer, it’s a good craft.

“A lot of other breweries in the state that make good beer, and we just like the competition; it’s really just a fun job,” he said. “Personally, my favorite beer that we have is Braxxie Blonde Ale. It’s a really good light ale and it’s out on the market.”

All ages and spectrums visit local watering hole Greenbrier Valley Brewing Company.

“A really cool place to come and just relax. Bring your kids, bring your dogs, enjoy a beer,” said Frizsell. “I have three bands playing: Ben Luckett is from 1 to 3 (he’s from Lewisburg), we have Whiskey & Wine, from 3 to 6 (they’re from Fayetteville) and we have Herb & Hanson (they’re coming in from DC and they’re playing from 6 to 9). Hope to see everybody here July 6 — come have a beer with us.”
