Greenbrier County Man Convicted of 39 Sexual Offenses

FAYETTE COUNTY– A Greenbrier county man is in jail after being convicted of several sex abuse charges against a child.

Charles Emerson Terry was convicted in Fayette County Circuit Court of 13 counts of second degree sexual assault, 13 counts of incest, and 13 counts of sexual abuse by a parent, guardian, or custodian. The trial began on Wednesday and on Thursday, after several hours of deliberation, a jury found him guilty on all charges. In June of 2015 a female child reported that terry had been abusing her over an extended period of time. Terry faces a possible sentence of 5 to 15 years for each count of incest, 10 to 20 years for each count of sexual abuse, and 10 to 25 years for each count of second degree of sexual assault.
