Greenbrier airport gets new airline

GREENBRIER CO., WV (WOAY) – Via Air has been told to fly the coop at the Greenbrier Valley Airport.

It will be replaced by SkyWest Airlines, according to the airport.

SkyWest plans to fly six nonstop round trips a week to Chicago O’Hare International and another six nonstop flights per week to Washington Dulles beginning April 1, 2018.  The airline says it will be flying Canadair Regional 200 jets which will seat 50 passengers.

The airport asked to get out of its contract with Via Air because it claimed the airline was having too many issues and was not viable.
