Grants available to preserve historic buildings

Grants are available through the Preservation Alliance of West Virginia to help preserve historic buildings throughout the state.

The grant is called the Saving Historic Places Grant, and targets neglected, certified historic buildings in rural communities.

In 2022, $400,000 in grant money was awarded statewide. There is still $60,000 worth of funds left that people can apply for.

To be eligible, buildings must be individually listed in the National Register of Historic Places or part of a historic district on the resgister.

Applications must be submitted by November 17.

To apply, go to https://www.pawv.org/.
